SmartMembranes was founded in 2009 in Halle (Saale) and has since established itself as an internationally operating provider of highly ordered porous materials made of aluminum oxide and silicon. The company develops and manufactures precisely adjustable membrane structures whose properties and structural parameters can be tailored to specific customer requirements.

SmartMembranes products are used across a wide range of applications in filtration, analytics, research, development, and industrial processes. With defined pore sizes, reproducible structures, and high material quality, the membranes are used by customers worldwide in both scientific and industrial environments.
